IUS Language Proficiency

Language of instruction and communication at IUS is English. Each student must prove their language proficiency in English to be able to begin their faculty programs.

Important Notes

*TOEFL iBT (Türkiye): In Türkiye, the test must be taken only at test centers administered by state universities. TOEFL iBT Test scores obtained from any other test center such as private language courses or similar from Türkiye will not be accepted as proof of English language proficiency at the International University of Sarajevo.
**Native English Diploma: High School/BA/MA Diploma obtained in a native English-speaking country (not older than 2 years).
***AICE: Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education.
****IB Diploma: International Baccalaureate.
TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition and IELTS Online exam results are NOT accepted.
Students will submit the "ORIGINAL" score sheet from TOEFL iBT/IELTS "IN PERSON" to the ELS Administration for review and a follow-up interview. Test-taker copies downloaded from the Internet are not accepted by IUS as proof of English language proficiency.

Students who attend the English Language Program must sit for the Proficiency Exam at the end of B2 level. These students can't be exempt from the Proficiency Exam based on their B2 level scores.
