20th English Language Summer School Officially Begins at IUS

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the 20th English Language Summer School officially began at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). This traditional program is organized by the IUS English Language School (ELS) and Sedefbosnia d.o.o., bringing students from different parts of Türkiye to the IUS campus for several weeks of learning, growth and cultural exchange.

During the program, participants will improve their English language skills through 25 hours of immersive language training per week, delivered by experienced English language instructors in a multicultural environment. The program focuses on all key language skills - speaking, listening, reading and writing - while encouraging students to use English actively through interactive activities, practical exercises and everyday communication.

In addition to language classes, students will take part in a variety of hands-on workshops and elective academic courses designed to support creativity, critical thinking and personal development. The program includes workshops in robotics and coding, photography, TV production, 3D printing, digital design, electronics, drawing and illustration, and mock trial activities. Students will also have the opportunity to explore academic topics such as law, psychology, cybersecurity, microbiology, financial literacy, architecture and visual arts, all taught in English.

Beyond the classroom, the Summer School offers a rich social and cultural program. Participants will enjoy sports activities, city tours and excursions to some of the most important cultural and historical destinations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Sarajevo, Mostar, Travnik and Srebrenica.

The IUS English Language Summer School provides students with much more than language instruction. By studying abroad, living on campus, meeting new friends, exploring a new culture and experiencing university life, students gain confidence, independence and a broader international perspective.

Through this long-standing program, IUS continues to create an inspiring environment where young people can strengthen their English language skills, discover new interests, build friendships and experience Bosnia and Herzegovina in a meaningful and memorable way.
