IUS Embarks on Recycling Campaign

On Friday, May 28, 2021, International University of Sarajevo (IUS) has signed a contract with the recycling company Aida-Commerce d.o.o. to start joint activities on recycling at the IUS Campus. IUS hereby encourages all interested students and academic staff who wish to contribute to the recycling project to take part in this campaign.

IUS as a socially responsible institution that wishes to drive positive changes in society through the application of UN Social Development Goals has started a new stage, i.e. implementation of its strategic plans regarding sustainable development, including recycling and environmental protection.

Lately, there have been a number of activities supporting the SDG agenda that IUS has taken part in: it has become a member of several international research networks of sustainable development, founded an SDG group of volunteers made of employees and students, introduced courses in sustainable development into its curriculum, educated the employees, promoted sustainable development on its official website and social media, and incorporated SDG into its strategic partnerships and documents.

According to the document that was signed on Friday, IUS students and employees will get instruction on how to recycle at the campus, and in particular, to recycle mixed paper, office paper, glossy paper, newspaper, aluminum cans, transparent plastic bottles and colored plastic bottles.

Singing this agreement is a seal to all previous SDG activities at the IUS, and it is opening horizons towards “IUS GREEN CAMPUS”.
